New Summer pieces are dropping in preparation for the sunshine season. Here's our favourite from New In. xo
PreLoved Back for Summer xo
CommentHello lovely petals. Firstly I feel it is important to apologise for my lack of presence. I've been slightly neglecting Preloved Paradise as of late, having recently started a new job and as time management has never been a forte of mine, well...excuses excuses I know, however I am working on this and will be dedicating much more time and love to the site so bear with me.
Being a start up business I haven't the facilities (yet) to orchestrate shoots as and when I please, so shooting the new pieces, has been slow to materialise, due to the lovely British weather, shooting outdoors has had to be put on hold until the sunshine dries away all the rain.
Looking forward to the season ahead, there will be lots of great pieces for you. Those who have been keeping up to date with the catwalk shows, will see that there are trends floating around which are heavily inspired by times of the past (shocker). Items preloved are soon to be in their element as 70's is experiencing a huge come back which will only add to their history and add another chapter to their story.
Having recently opened a boutique on ASOS Marketplace we hope to spread the word of the beautiful unique items PreLoved has aquired. Check out our boutique and let us know what you think.

Stay tuned for our summer pieces, we have some scorchers!

Staceyann Chin - Spoken Word Poem
CommentI was recently sent this video to watch and found it to be an incredibly inspirational piece of performance art. So much so, I felt it imperative to share. Albeit a little old, it carries such energy and Staceyann Chin's clever and witty retort to an ignorant tweet directed at her is captivating.
The Destruction of Nature and Their Habitats
Climate ChangeCommentThe Guardian has published an incredibly shocking article which makes it impossible to continue to ignore facts like our wildlife population decreasing by 50% in a mere 40 years.

Friday Soundtrack. Tokyo Prose.
CommentFinally it's Friday! Word on the street is there is a heatwave coming too, so hold off on packing away your summer wardrobe!
PreLoved Paradise is here to kick start your weekend with a scorcher of an album from DnB artist Tokyo Prose. Entitled Presence it features soulful vocals over liquidy beats. Give the album a listen here: http://www.tokyoprose.com/
Ventura is personal favourite of mine! Happy Friday. x
London Fashion Week Recap : SS15
CommentLondon Fashion Week came to a close yesterday, and not surprisingly the trend- setting, stylish capital played host to a wide range of super talented, innovative designers showcasing their Spring/ Summer 2015 collections. LFW prides iteself in welcoming new designers, so each season alongside the regular established greats, we are introduced to new, emerging designers breaking their way into the industry. If you weren't able to attend any shows or keep up to date PreLoved Paradise brings to you our own personal best bits. Enjoy!
Day 1:
Bora Aksu
Bora Aksu
Shrimps
Fyodor Golan
Fyodor Golan
Friday was a wonderful introduction of what to expect for the next few days at LFW. Colour, print, embelishment, lightweight, silky or translucent fabrics combined with playful faux fur layers in bright hues induced emotions of joy, excitment and anticipation for the sunshine season ahead.
Day 2:
Orla Kiely
Lulu & Co
Markus Lupfer
It seems co-ords are here to stay, with many designers feauturing twin sets in their collection. Win.
Sibling
House of Holland
House of Holland
House of Holland cleverly combines print and texture in a whimsical manner producing outfits for women wishing to stand out from the crowd and be noticed. The Blue Parker is a personal favourite of mine... what's there not to like? Metallic? CHECK. Blue? CHECK. Oversized? CHECK. 3/4 sleeves? CHECK. Polka Dots. CHECK. I think Yayoi Kusama would be a fan too. Time to start saving...
Day 3:
Vivienne Westwood Red Label
Vivienne Westwood exhibited magnificent tailoring with a grungy but simultaneously elegant finish. The models' faces were painted in a child-like manner, featuring drawn on moustaches, or beauty spots the size of a £1 coin, smudged red lips, and generally slap dash make-up which brought a comical element to the collection, a trademark of Westwood.

Day 4:
Roksanda
Roksanda's SS15 collection, I am pleased to report maintains its colourful playful tone, mixing sharp tailoring with draped sillhouettes typical of the brand, the end result proves brighter is indeed better. Yes to colour.
Erdem
Erden never fails to produce an ethereal exhibition, with an apparent element of sombreness; managing to perfectly create mysterious beautiful garments.
Christopher Kane
Christopher Kane
Kane's collection for me was a slight disappointment. His talent and skill is evident to all, this has been proven many times over, however the collection I felt lacked cohesion and vigour. Kane produced beautiful garments don't get me wrong, but unlike all his previous collections... I wasn't blown away. Perhaps he has set incredibly high standards for himself in the past...So my expectations are too high... Maybe I just didn't get what everyone else got.
Day 5:
Simone Rocha
Simone Rocha
Simone Rocha was defineitely a highlight of mine this season. Her beautiful, girly, innovative designs generate happiness from within and the entire collection is worth a look (don't just take my word for it). The pink and red combination ticked my boxes, with the floral motifs adding a cherry to the already deliciously sweet cake.
Ryan Lo
Ryan Lo
Ryan Lo: ultimate genius in my eyes, invites and encourages his audience to become fairytale characters, where daily life equates to frills, pleats, pink, shine and glittery things. He brings the fun back into dressing. An emerging designer sure to go far.
I always find LFW comes and goes all too quickly, I do however understand why London is often said to be the best host for fashion week. It never ceases to amaze and inspire. The mixture of well known and unknown make for an amazing exhibition and display of what our city has to offer. Originlaity, creativity and expression are clear charactersitics London exposes and envokes. All i can say now is I look forward to Febuary.

Fruit Shoot
CommentIt appears the sun has returned to us Brits once more this year and eradicated with its beautiful rays, the fortnight of persistant percipitation and wintery winds from August to prolongue Summer in September. Hoorah. For those (like myself) who have not been able to holiday in 2014 yet, this is especially good news! The return of summer has brought back colour to my life, and I have aquired an obsession with fruit printed things. Obviously eating fruit is very good for you, and has many beneficial dietery elements, but wearing something with an allover watermelon print, evokes essential emotions for living. Smile.

One To Watch: Carrie-Ann Stein
CommentOne designer who is sure to achieve great things for herself is newcomer Carrie- Ann Stein. Stein, from initially studying law, she moved to London to persue Fashion Design with Knitwear at Cenral St Martins. Her work reflects and is inspired by her upbringing in Lancashire, showcasing working class life, through a collection incorporating a combination of digital prints, slogans and images. The silhouette, albeit whimsical and playful, work to convey Steins own experience when growing up in Lancashire and the rapid decline a result of its textile trade, which during the 19th century was responsible for almost 85% of the worlds cotton manufacture, ceased.
“a post-industrial cotton-mill town suffering from the loss of its textile trade”
Vibrant hues, innovative designs and Stein's bold use of digital print evIdently show why she was included in London Fashion Scout's One's to Watch.
Photoshoot Number 2!!
CommentAnother photoshoot for PP was WELL overdue, so I decided to update some of the existing products from the site, providing fresh ideas and style tips of how these can be worn, as well as introducing NEW Preloved pieces. Seeing as we have been experinceing some beautiful weather in London as of late, PreLoved Paradise took advantage of this and had the shoot alfesco. Roping in my usual suspects we caught some rays, had some fun, and have a beautiful collection coming soon to the site.

Looking forward to uploading the new pieces. Please drop me an email and let me know what you think. I think this one is even better than the last, but I'm biased. Keep a lookout. Summer isn't going anywhere soon, enjoy the rays.
Can you fill me in?
CommentAfter reading Craig David has released a new song, I instantly began to reminise to my (slightly) younger days when classics like 'Rewind' and '7 days' were pretty much on loop on my panasonic not so anti- shock discman. Realising I had not seen or heard anything from Craig David in yonks, I did a little googleing and was surprised to see his grown up self..
All grown up and out, I shall however remain in denial and carry the image of him with his goatie and beanie to the end.
His new song 'cold' is a bit of alright.. catchy still.

Henri Matisse at the Tate.
1 CommentAn exhibiton many have been eagerly anticipating is 'The Cut Outs' by Henri Matisse. An exhibiton of works produced during his later years, when his health issues and limited mobility began to form a barrier between himself and his paintings. Paper Cut outs is an incredibe visual display of Matisse's new method of creating.
“It is no longer the brush that slips and slides over the canvas, it is the scissors that cut into the paper and into the colour...The Contour of the figure springs from the discovery of the scissors that give it the movement of circulating life.”
The colourful palette prevalent throughout the exhibition, a typical trademark of Matisse, evokes happiness from its lighthearted style. Shapes delicately arranged, rashly cut with precision from supersized pieces of paper only to be attatched with semi permanent fixtures such as tape, and pins contributed to the overall playful nature of the exhibit.
'The Cut- Outs' exhibiton runs at the Tate Modern until 7th September 2014, it is a MUST see. I do advise however to avoid weekends/ bank holidays as the influx of tourists and day trippers deter somewhat from the experience.
Arsenal vs Hull City: A Triumphant Day For North London.
Arsenal Hull City, FA Cup, North London, Football, Celebration, WinCommentSaturday 17th May: Arsenal win the FA Cup.
Saturday was a big day for PreLoved Paradise as the Arsenal- Hull City Match landed on the same day as our market stall in Portobello. We HASTILY packed up our stock and pretty much ran, (then anxiously waited on the tube with lots of other Arsenal supporters eager to get up to date with the action too) from West London to North to catch the second half. Alighting at Holloway Road I could feel the atmoshphere was tense as pub after pub packed to its brim, chanted and sang, with a faint element of despair which could only be a sign Arsenal weren't doing so well...
Parting the Red Sea within The Horatio pub, and gradually adjusting to the Sauna esqu sweaty atmosphere produced from the deadly combination of fear, anxiety, alcohol and desperation, I fixed my eyes on the screen and began to hope we would turn the game around.
It was incredibly tense, but we pulled through and left with the cup, finishing on 3-2. The fans were overjoyed and their release had clearly been storing up, patiently waiting for an outlet for 9 years. As soon as the Cup was lifted we all took to the streets for not only that much needed fresh air, but also to rejoice in our victory with other fans, strangers, passers by and anyone who we encountered on Holloway Road. Everyone involved in the celebrations becoame a family for one day. Arsenal had won, their supporters were on a high.
SIT DOWN if you hate Tottenham. SIT DOWN if you hate Tottenham
STAND UP if you hate Tottenham. STAND UP if you hate Tottenham.
'North London is ours today'
Even those who didn't support Arsenal were joining in the celebrations. Free High Fives to everyone who passes.

Banksy's Return To The UK
Banksy's ReturnCommentStreet Artist Banksy, appears to have returned from his New York Residency to delight the residents from his home town of Bristol. The piece, showing a couple embracing while checking their mobile phones, was removed from a council owned wall by the owner of a nearby Youth Club. Recognizing its value, the owner of the club claimed the piece with the intention of putting it to auction in order to raise money to support the club which was struggling financially. The piece 'Mobile Lovers' typical of Banksy's style appears to address the damaging digital nature of society glued to their smart phones, and how frequently beautiful moments which occur in reality are disregarded or missed, as a result of an increasing unnatural attatchment with the cyber world.
